Audit and Risk Committee

The Audit and Risk Committee is appointed by West Wimmera Shire Council to oversee the activities of Council, particularly its risk management and internal control processes in addition to the activities of the Council’s external and internal auditors. 

In accordance with section 53 of the Local Government Act 2020 (Act), the Audit and Risk Committee is appointed by Council to oversee the activities of council particularly its risk management and internal control processes in addition to the activities of the Council's external and internal auditors.

The Committee gives independent advice to Council on:

  • appropriate accounting
  • auditing
  • internal control
  • business risk management
  • compliance and reporting systems
  • processes and practices.

They consider and make recommendations to the Council and its management on many issues and internal audits.

Meetings
