West Wimmera Shire Council is preparing a new Council Plan for 2025–2029 and is calling on the community to help shape the future of the region. This four-year plan will guide Council’s strategic direction, priorities and actions to support the liveability, sustainability and prosperity of West Wimmera.
We want to hear from a broad range of voices – from farmers and business owners to young people, families and retirees. Every perspective counts.
What is the Council Plan?
The Council Plan is a key strategic document required under the Local Government Act 2020. It outlines the vision, objectives and strategic actions of Council over a four-year period, aligned to community needs and aspirations.
The Council Plan guides Council’s decision-making and sets out the services, projects and advocacy efforts it will focus on during the term.
Key elements of the Council Plan include:

- Planned initiatives to deliver services and infrastructure

A representative panel of residents will be formed to explore local priorities in greater depth and make recommendations to Council.
Panel members will work with facilitators and Council staff over several workshops.
