Seniors to enjoy afternoon of Neil Diamond classics

West Wimmera Shire Council will celebrate local seniors with an afternoon of music, community and recognition at its annual seniors concert in October.
The free event will be held at the Edenhope and District Community Centre on Thursday 29 October, commencing at 1.30pm.
The concert forms part of the Victorian Seniors Festival.

Community invited to have their say on proposed flood planning changes

West Wimmera Shire Council is seeking community feedback on proposed changes to flood-related planning controls in Harrow and Chetwynd.
Draft Amendment C38wwim proposes updated flood mapping and new planning controls to better reflect the risk of flooding in the two townships.
The proposed changes include new controls for areas at higher risk of flooding and updates to existing flood mapping.

Council welcomes investigation into pedestrian safety concerns

West Wimmera Shire Council has welcomed confirmation that pedestrian safety concerns on the Western Highway in Kaniva are being investigated.

The Department of Transport and Planning has confirmed it is investigating the site to determine what interim measures may be appropriate while more permanent repairs are considered.

The team will be available to answer enquiries, provide support and connect people with mental health, alcohol and other drugs (AOD), homelessness and other Uniting programs. No appointment is required.

Draft Amendment C38wwim – Flood Studies

West Wimmera Shire Council is exhibiting Draft Amendment C38wwim to the West Wimmera Planning Scheme.

The draft amendment proposes to implement updated flood modelling for local catchments and introduce updated flood-related planning controls in Harrow and Chetwynd. It also makes administrative changes to existing flood overlays in Dergholm and Connewirricoo.
