The Kaniva Caravan Park has undergone a significant transformation with the completion of a $593,000 upgrade, designed to improve comfort, accessibility, and the overall visitor experience.
The park’s outdated 1970s amenities block and kitchen have been replaced with a modern, family-friendly facility featuring:
Male and female toilets and showers
Accessible toilet and shower
Laundry facilities
Baby-change station
Fully equipped camp kitchen with barbecue, hot plates, sink, and accessible seating
Powerhead replacements
Improved signage
Landscaping, new lawn areas, fencing, and seating
These improvements were essential to meeting the needs of the growing number of tourists visiting Kaniva, particularly those travelling the Silo Art Trail and exploring the town’s natural attractions.
The upgraded amenities aim to encourage longer visitor stays in Kaniva, supporting the local economy and shifting the town’s role from a highway stop to a genuine tourist destination.
In addition to the completed works, two new cabins, a three-bedroom cabin and a two-bedroom accessible cabin, have been installed, further boosting the park's accommodation options.
