West Wimmera to celebrate volunteers with morning tea

As part of National Volunteer Week, West Wimmera Shire Council is hosting a special morning tea in Edenhope to thank and recognise the many volunteers who contribute their time and skills to the region.

The event will take place at 10:30am on Monday 19 May at the Edenhope & District Community Centre and is open to all community volunteers.

Council responds to industrial action

West Wimmera Shire Council is aware of protected industrial action being taken by some staff and acknowledges their right to take such action.
Council has undertaken contingency planning to ensure there is minimal disruption to the community as a result of this action.
Waste collection services will not be affected.

Join the local community in supporting the Cancer Council at this year’s Biggest Morning Tea in Kaniva .Enjoy a relaxed morning with tea, treats, and great company while raising funds for those affected by cancer. The event will feature a raffle, door prizes, a trading table, and a children’s play area.

National Volunteer Week Morning Tea – Edenhope

This is an opportunity for Council to express appreciation to our dedicated volunteers and to connect over morning tea during National Volunteer Week (19–25 May). All volunteers across the shire are welcome to come along.

Speech pathologist present for parents

21 May 2025

Parents and carers are invited to a free talk with a speech pathologist, focused on the early stages of child development. The session will explore early speech and language development, feeding and swallowing in infants, bonding through communication, and how to access local support services.

Kaniva Rec Reserve Master Plan

West Wimmera Shire Council is currently preparing a Master Plan for the Kaniva Recreation Reserve. The 10-year plan for the reserve will identify improvements to facilities and sport and active recreation opportunities at the site.
