Community events highlight the fight against gender-based violence

West Wimmera Shire Council invites the community to two special events as part of the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, focusing on creating safe, equal and respectful communities.

These events, in Kaniva and Edenhope, will feature guest speakers Angela Murphy, from Ballarat and Grampians Community Legal Service, and Melissa Morris from Women’s Health Grampians.

Official opening of upgraded Edenhope Early Childhood Service

West Wimmera Shire Council invites the community to the official opening of the upgraded Edenhope Early Childhood Service on Friday.

The opening will be on 15 November at 10am at the service in Langford Street, Edenhope.
The $400,000 upgrade included significant improvements to the building to ensure inclusive access, such as upgrades to the bathrooms, laundry and storage facilities.

Council re-issues rates notices due to missing payment codes

West Wimmera Shire Council is re-issuing the 2nd instalment rates notices, due to missing payment information.

Council posted the notices to ratepayers on 25 October 2024, but they were issued without Council’s Bpay biller code and Post Billpay code, which are essential for secure and convenient payments.

Notices have now been resent to ratepayers with the correct information.

Serviceton’s Angela Heinrich recognised as Senior Citizen of the Year

West Wimmera Shire Council has named Serviceton’s Angela Heinrich as the 2024 Senior Citizen of the Year.
Ms Heinrich was presented the award at West Wimmera Shire’s Seniors Concert at Edenhope on Thursday.
Ms Heinrich has been an active volunteer in her community for many years and continues to make an outstanding contribution to both the Serviceton and Kaniva districts.
